Job Description:

A locally owned family manufacturing company is currently seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator in Butler, PA for a long-term temporary to hire opportunity. The Safety Coordinator provides support to maintain a safe plant work environment. The objective for this person is promoting safety in the work place and ensuring compliance of applicable laws and regulations. Must be a self starter and enthusiastic about safety. Responsibilities for the Safety Coordinator include but are not limited to the following:

• Ensure the development, implementation and updating of required written safety and health programs and plans

• Conduct periodic safety and health walk-thru inspections of all workplace facilities

• Ensure that OSHA 300 log of injuries is maintained and posted. Conduct accident/injury investigations and implement a program for reporting “near miss” situations

• Maintain required safety and health document files

• Compile new employee training program and train incoming employees

• File necessary reports and filings with DEP

• Implement driver safety program and monitor, record and file IFTA and DOT filings

• Ordering and monitoring of employee?s Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Additional safety programs as company finds necessary

Candidates must meet the following requirements for consideration:

• Bachelors Degree in Safety Management or similar

• 1 – 3 years relevant experience

Pay for this position is $20 - 25/hr plus overtime as needed. This is a full-time, temporary-to-hire opportunity.
