THE POSITION
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is seeking
hardworking Civil, Construction, Environmental, or Structural
Engineering students for employment during the summer months for
the 2025 Summer Employment Program! These internships offer a

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an engineering intern, you will have the opportunity to engage
with multiple facets of the field, such as roadway and pavement
design, drainage systems, bridge construction, materials testing,
traffic system design and operations, and maintenance asset
management. This internship serves as a valuable opportunity to
refine your technical skills, translate theoretical concepts into
real-world applications, and work alongside committed engineering
professionals who prioritize innovation and quality.

Internship opportunities associated with this posting will be for
Engineering District 10 which consists of Armstrong, Butler,
Clarion, Indiana, and Jefferson Counties.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time internship that
will run from 5/1/2025 through 8/29/2025Work hours will vary based
on positionSome positions may require travelCompensation is credit
based: Less than 90 credits - $20.76Over 90 credits - $21.64 You

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSStudents who are interested in a PennDOT internship
must meet all of the following requirements: Must be a high school
graduate or college student enrolled (or intending to enroll) on a
full-time or part-time basis in a 2- or 4- year post-secondary
education program for the fall semester.In good academic standing
(as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher)Must be at least 18 years of
ageSpecial Requirement: Certain positions require possession of a
valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
Additional Requirements:
Preferred Majors:Engineering or a closely related engineering
discipline.
